The Story

Hi, I’m Kassidy, the hands behind Siding with Citrus! After a few years of documenting my favorite go-to recipes and sending them out to friends, I realized the on-going need for easy delicious meal solutions.

Combined with my itch to get out of the office setting, the prepared meals business idea formed, and I was ready to hit the ground running! I began with selling the most flavorful meals I could make, but God had other plans! A month into my journey, I began to consult with nutrition and integrative health experts who see food as medicine and organic farming as one of the ways God designed us to care for our health and the earth.

The more I learned about the synthetic sprays, dyes, and additives used to preserve food or enhance flavor, the more passionate I became in tracking down clean organic ingredients and making those simple swaps (and completely tossing out a few… sorry bacon lovers!).

With a simple rotating menu and a focus on quality over quantity, I’m so excited to help people eat well, stress less about what’s for dinner, and live healthy productive lives… which leads me to my mission! Read below!

The Mission

The mission of Siding with Citrus is to empower our community to live proactively instead of reactively, which happens when we nourish our bodies with real food, manage our stress, spend time in nature, get quality sleep, and more. Not only is this good for our body, it is good for our mood, our energy levels, our long-term well being… and it ripples out to everyone around us. When we feel our best, we’re ready and willing to do our best—for ourselves, for our friends and family, and for the community around us!😍

Our 5 Health-Driven Food Values

Organic + Clean

Ingredients grown and processed without harmful pesticides, dyes, preservatives.

We aim to eat the way our grandparents did, before big food companies figured out how to produce faster, cheaper, and more artificially. Why does this matter? Because that pesticide sprayed on corn to kill surrounding weeds, that preservative in the Goldfish box to keep it shelf-stable for a year, that yellow dye used to make cheese look “extra cheesy”— those chemicals don’t stay behind. They come with every bite. We may not fully understand how those chemicals affect our health over time, but we do know this: the less processed the food, the more we are setting ourselves up for long-term wellness. That is the goal!

Balanced + Nutrient-Dense

Meals built with vegetables, lean protein, fiber, & heart healthy fat.

It’s not just about eating fewer calories — it’s about eating better ones. When our meals are balanced with these key components, we not only get our macronutrients in (protein, carbs, fats) but also the micronutrients (Iron, Magnesium, Vitamin D, etc.) that are essential for… energy, focus, quality sleep, strong bones, on and on and on! And that’s only the short term boost. Add in protection from chronic diseases, stronger immunity, quicker recovery from stress, and even a longer life. Yes please!

Sodium-Conscious

Mindful sodium levels to support heart, blood pressure, and kidney health

Sugar gets a lot of attention — but sodium deserves the spotlight too. It’s something I’ve been focused on since the beginning! Salt definitely enhances flavor (which is why restaurant meals go overboard), but too much of it can silently drive up your blood pressure and raise your risk of heart disease- the #1 cause of death in the U.S. The solution? Citrus instead of excess salt. Herbs instead of heavy seasoning. Crafting meals that are flavorful and satisfying — without overdoing the sodium. Let’s go!

Gut & Allergy-Friendly

Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Refined Sugar Free options

Whether you’re sensitive or just feel better without them, there are always options on the menu without gluten, dairy, and/or refined sugar. This is where the swaps come in! Finding the gluten free option with little or no taste difference (coconut aminos over soy sauce), replacing dairy with an equally tasty option (guacamole over cheese), choosing more nutrient-dense sweeteners (mashed bananas over sugar). So easy and just as delicious!

Convenience

Time-saving solutions designed for ease and efficiency

Yes, convenience is a health goal! Because let’s be honest — the easier it is, the more likely it happens. How much more likely are we to eat a nutrient-packed dinner if it’s sitting in our fridge ready to be eaten! Not only that, but researching clean ingredients takes time most people don’t have. From clean simple swaps to stocked freezers, we are all about ease and convenience for making a healthy lifestyle a reality!
